Senior team
James Barber
Founding Partner
James has over 20 years’ experience across investments, strategy consultancy and family business advisory and has specialised in owner-backed businesses since 2017.
Prior to working with owners, James was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group in London, where he supported leading corporations with strategy, transformational change, and corporate development.
Previously he spent seven years with Goldman Sachs where he was an investment professional focused on fundamental equity strategies. He has held the CFA designation since 2006.
James is a strong believer in the power of clear mandates and strong teams to create lasting value.
Robert Davies
Founding Partner
Robert has worked as an advisor to the owners of family businesses and their investment offices since 2013 and brings 35 years of professional experience.
Prior to advising owners, Robert was a Senior Partner at The Boston Consulting Group where he worked for 25 years. He founded BCG’s Brazil operations, building to a 100-person office over eight years.
At BCG, he specialised in topics related to shareholder value creation, portfolio and business strategies and diversification, and he was responsible for developing BCG’s approach to organisational culture.
Robert is passionate about helping families work out what they want and is then persistent in guiding them to make change happen.
